The Dovecote is particularly beautiful with a coating of snow as seen in this photo taken by Chris Goll during the recent cold snap.  Such weather attracts the egrets which venture up the River Windrush to Naunton in the winter.  We would be very pleased to hear from any happy snappers who capture a picture of him/her at the Dovecote which we can display on the website.

We are pleased to say that the influx of jackdaws to the Dovecote which has been observed over the past few years seems to have lessened a little this last 12 months and the dove population appears to have increased a little at the same time.  We also are delighted to see that the white doves from further down the village are sometimes seen at the Dovecote and wonder if they are considering a move upstreet.  The sparrowhawk will be very pleased to see them if they do, as their highly visible plumage makes them an easy target.
